[NOTE: This Limited Warranty does not extend to Enterprise, Business, or Fleet Customers of Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service.]
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service Undertakes to always execute any Repair/Service in compliance with the Vehicle's Manufacturers Specifications, and to always use Authorized Manufacturers Approved parts.
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will ALWAYS protect/respect our Name and Reputation, and any servise/repair we do will be to the best of our ability, and by only using manufacturers approve parts, and parts that comply to the manufacturers specifications.
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service reserves the right to refuse to execute any Repair/Service with parts supplied by the Vehicle Owner, or where we are instructed or requested to use cheaper alternative parts.
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service credibility and reputation is much more valuable than a request to execute a Repair/Service that is not specified by the Manufacturers Specifications.
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service only uses approved and credible third party suppliers, eg Engineering Workshops, Wheel Alignment Centers and Spray Painting Workshops. We as Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will hold these suppliers accountable if they produced or delivered work of inferiors quality.
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will not be held accountable/responsible when any customizations, alterations, performance enhancements are requested that will VOID or impact on the ORIGINAL Manufacturers guarantee.
Who is covered by this Limited Warranty?
This Limited Warranty, which is provided by Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service. (“Centurion Lake Auto Repairs,” “we” or “us”), extends to you as the original purchaser of the auto repair, service or maintenance. provided by a Technician from Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service.
Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will only deal/negotiate directly with the Vehicle Owner, or the spouse of the Vehicle Owner.
Who is NOT covered by this Limited Warranty?
This Limited Warranty does not extend to any person who may purchase your car after the Vehicle Service/Repair are performed.
What does this Limited Warranty cover?
Subject to the exclusions, limitations and conditions set forth below, we warrant that the Vehicle Service/Repair will be free from defects in: materials (i.e., that the parts replaced in the performance of the Vehicle Service/Repair are not defective and perform as expected under normal usage conditions); and workmanship (i.e., that the Vehicle Service/Repair were performed correctly).
How long will coverage under this Limited Warranty last?
This Limited Warranty lasts for 6 months or 20 000 km of use, whichever comes first, measured from the date the Vehicle Services are provided and the odometer reading shown on the applicable invoice (the “Warranty Period”). Note that any remedial work performed under this Limited Warranty will not restart the Warranty Period.
Some materials provided by Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service may carry a separate warranty that extends beyond the Warranty Period (e.g., some car batteries are covered by a manufacturer’s five-year warranty). In those instances, the term of the manufacturer’s warranty will apply to the materials (but workmanship will remain subject to the Warranty Period).
What will we do in the event of a defect in the Services during the Warranty Period?
If there is a material or workmanship defect within the Warranty Period, we will, at our option and at no additional cost to you:
- Engage a Technician without charge to you to perform remedial service work and/or replace defective part(s) installed in connection with the Vehicle Service/Repair; or
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will not refund any amount actually paid by you to us for the Vehicle Service/Repair.
- Refunds will only be considered in extreme situations, Where a vehicle is broken down in Cape Town or on the way to Cape Town, and it is not possible for us to get to you and carry out the repair. (Note that any discounts or promotions you applied towards payment of the Vehicle Services will not count as amounts you paid for purposes of any refund under this Limited Warranty.)
- if the repair shop that your vehicle is broken down at is MIWA (Moto Industry Workmanship Association) Approved, then Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will arrange to overnight replacement parts to them, and will arrange direct payment to the MIWA Approved Workshop for the repairs done.
- ALL defective part or parts must be returned to Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service, before payment will be processed to the MIWA Approved Workshop.
- Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will supply and overnight the replacement parts, and the MIWA Approved Workshop will only be paid the labour costs of the repair.
In the event of a Warranty Claim all defective materials/parts will be retained by Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service.
We neither assume nor authorize anyone to assume for us any other obligation or liability in connection with the Vehicle Service/Repair.
What is not covered by this Limited Warranty?
This Limited Warranty does not cover:
Any damage to your car caused by abnormal use such as
- use in a commercial venture,
- misuse,
- neglect (such as not performing maintenance services in accordance with the instructions in the owner’s manual for your car),
- alteration or tampering, or by
- external causes such as
- accidents,
- fire,
- water and freezing,
- violence,
- theft,
- potholes,
- or if the vehicle was used in "Drag" racing,
- "Obstacle Course" driving, or
- damage caused by towing, or
- when you tow another vehicle, or
- driving the vehicle without oil or water, or
- overloading, or
- as a result of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Any diagnostic or inspection service including pre-purchase inspection services provided by Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service;
Any work not scheduled and processed through Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service, including any work performed by a Technician originally introduced to you through Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service to the extent such work was not scheduled and processed through Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service.
Any issues unrelated to the Vehicle Service/Repair ordered by you (e.g., if you request/instruct Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service an alternator replacement because your car was not starting, and the car continues not to start after the alternator is replaced, this Limited Warranty does not cover the fact that the alternator replacement did not solve the problem that the car does not start);
If Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service analyzed and through Diagnostics Test determined and isolated the problem, did the repair and that did not solve the initial problem then Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will assume responsibility.
You as the Vehicle Owner will be given the option to leave the newly fitted part, and pay the cost of the new part, but the alternative part/repair cost will also be carried by the owner.
Any pre-existing condition with your car that is not known by the Technician prior to starting the Vehicle Service/Repair and that is discovered during or after the Vehicle Service/Repair are performed (e.g., if you engage the Technician to replace valve cover gaskets, but during the removal of the valve covers, worn plastic hoses break because they are old and brittle; repairing and/or replacing the plastic hoses under that scenario would not be covered by this Limited Warranty.
Any repairs that you request the Technician to perform beyond those included in the Technician’s diagnosis of the problem, and which the Technician performs, even if those additional repairs are needed to fix the issue you asked the Technician to diagnose; provided, however, that if you authorize and pay for additional repairs through Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service, such additional repairs would be included in the Vehicle Services and covered by this Limited Warranty; and
Any consequential effects of the Vehicle Services performed, unrelated to any of the parts replaced being defective or any of the repair work being done incorrectly (e.g., if you request a transmission fluid service, but because you have not been replacing the transmission fluid regularly, when the Technician replaces the fluid, with the right fluid installed properly, your transmission stops shifting properly because it cannot handle the new fluid—this is a “consequential effect” not covered by this Limited Warranty).
This Limited Warranty is entirely void when:
Any parts not ordered through Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service, that was supplied by the vehicle owner, and was requested by the vehicle owner to fit, replace or install to the vehicle by a Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service Technician;
Any Vehicle Service/Repair request is made by you, the Vehicle Owner. that deviates from the manufacturer’s specifications and recommendation (e.g., conventional oil is requested by you for an oil change but the owner’s manual for your vehicle calls for synthetic oil) Any damage resulting from this action will not be covered by the "Limited Warranty"
Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service reserves the right to refuse any service/repair demanded by the Vehicle Owner that is not in line with Manufacturers Specifications.
Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service reputation and credibility are much more important and valued than a repair/service that is not in line and does not comply to Manufacturers Specifications.
Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service will always be clear and specific, and will inform the Vehicle Owner in writing and with the Vehicle Owners signature when a repair/service is not covered by the Limited Warranty.
- An example of this is where Original Manufacturer Parts are no longer available, and the importing of the original part is not possible. If a decision is made and agreed to by both parties to use alternative replacement parts, or second hand parts, or refurbished parts, then this repair/service will be excluded from the Limited Warranty agreement.
- After a repair/service done by Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service, you take your vehicle to an Auto Repair Shop/Technician to diagnose or repair a problem believed to be associated with such Vehicle's original Service/Repair, without giving Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service the first opportunity to inspect and remedy the problem.
Any determination of whether this Limited Warranty does not apply or is otherwise void as to a particular warranty claim shall be made by us, Centurion Lake Auto Repairs and Service in our sole discretion.
You will be charged two hour labour fees, if a service/repair call is made under this Limited Warranty for an alleged defect determined not to be the result of a defect in materials or workmanship of the Vehicle Service/Repair. You must pay for any non-warranty service ordered at the same time as any warranty service.
What is the process for a claim filed under this Limited Warranty?
Once you file a claim with us, our claims team will evaluate the claim to determine preliminary eligibility for coverage of Vehicle Services under this Limited Warranty.
If eligible,
we will send a Technician to inspect the problem. If the Technician determines that there is a defect in materials or workmanship of the Vehicle Services and we elect to perform remedial service work and/or replace defective part(s) installed (instead of providing a refund), we will create a new appointment to perform such work and/or replace such part(s) at no cost to you.
If the Technician determines that the claimed defect is not the result of a defect in materials or workmanship of the Vehicle Services, you will be charged for two hours of labour fees.
What happens if you are outside our service area when you file a claim?
- Refunds will only be considered in extreme situations, Where a vehicle is broken down in Cape Town or on the way to Cape Town, and it is not possible for us to get to you and carry out the repair. May you keep any defective parts replaced under this Limited Warranty?
No. All defective parts replaced under this Limited Warranty must be returned to us.
